Luxury Villas to rent on Santorini

Apartments in Santorini

The fame of the Santorini Caldera view is based on the 85 metre high cliff which is home to many of the island's villages, which offers a sea view as far as the eye can see. The cliff is the wall of the submerged volcano crater caused by the cataclysmic eruption of this volcano around 3000 BC. In addition to creating the best views of the Aegean Sea for present day visitors to enjoy, this eruption also caused the demise of the Minoan civilization. Steeped in history, Santorini has plenty of archaeological sites to visit including the ruins of ancient Thira and Akrotiri.

Choose to enjoy the dramatic views from Santorini vacation rental villas perched against the dramatic cliff-faces that make this island unforgettable. Several of our holiday villas have a private Jacuzzi or small swimming pool, in a stunning location overlooking the caldera and the magnificent sunsets.

The best locations for views include Oia, on the northern tip of the island, offering a quieter atmosphere and the best sunsets, and Imerovigli, a picturesque white-washed village about halfway between Oia and Thira.  Thira is also home to several villas to rent in Santorini, and as the largest town on the island, as well as benefitting from the views, it offers a lively atmosphere and a great choice of restaurants and bars.

We also have charming villas to rent s in the fertile wine growing area of Megalochori, about 7 kms from Thira.  The small village with its winding cobbled streets, historic mansions, traditional houses and wine canavas, offers a popular and authentic Santorini base.

Santorini is undoubtedly one of the major tourist destinations in Greece and, with flights available either directly from many European airports or via Athens (50 minute flight).  Alternatively, the awe-inspiring view as you pull into the cliff-ringed bay makes it worth opting for a boat or flying dolphin to make your entrance!
