Apartments in Athens

As the historical capital of Europe and the cradle of Western civilization, Athens dates right back to the Neolithic Age.  The influence of the classical era is still very much in evidence with its famous monuments, such as the Pantheon, as well as monuments from the Roman and Byzantine eras. Must see sights include the Acropolis,  Ancient Agora, both the National Archaelogical and Benaki Museums, as well as Lycabettus Hill, from which there are spectacular views over the city. The city has become more walkable over recent years with the traffic free pedestrianised Archaeological Promenade, which connects  the foot of the Acropolis and other major archaeological sites.

Our luxury apartments for rent in Athens, Greece, are located in the residential areas of Kypseli and Kolonaki. Kolonaki is right in the heart of central Athens, around the corner from the Benaki Museum, and just a 10 minute walk from the Plaka.  A very elegant part of the city, it is home to many embassies and, with its many boutiques, it is also shoppers’ haven!

Kypseli  as an area has an interesting history as one of the most chic areas Athens, which has now become more lively and multi-cultural.  During the 30’s, 50’s and 60’s, the architecture was very much influenced by the Bauhaus and Art Deco movements , and much of the beautiful architecture from these periods is still evident.     Nearby is the main boulevard of Patission, and it is easy to find a bus or taxi here to  reach the historical centre within 10 minutes.  The National Archeological Museum and grand park of ‘Pedion tou Areos’ (newly renovated by famous architect Alexandros Tombazis) are within walking distance. The nearest beach at 'Faliron', which also has a yacht marina, is about 20 minutes away by taxi or by the slower tram.
