Francois Mitterand, President of France for 14 years, lived on the rue de Bievre for decades. It is just seconds away from Boulevard St. Germain and minutes from the Boulevard St. Michel, the Panthéon, the Sorbonne, Cluny and the Jardin des Plantes. Bistros, cafés, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques abound in the surrounding streets. The Seine River, both of the historic islands (Ile St.-Louis and Ile de la Cité), Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the Pantheon, the famous bookstore Shakespeare and Co., Berthillon's (the ultimate French ice cream) and the medieval Marais district are all within an easy walk.

This apartment to rent in Paris, France, is on the fourth floor of the building, accessed by digi-code and also with an internal door and intercom system. There is a lift to the fourth floor. The accommodation is on three floors, with brand new appliances, and also air-conditioning. Enjoy gorgeous views of Paris from this stylish and luxury apartment letting. The entire three floors look out onto an internal courtyard facing south, so the apartment is extremely quiet and bathed in sunlight for most of the day. Amenities include flat screen TV, DVD, Sony stereo system with radio and CD player, laptop computer and broadband internet with wi-fi. There is a telephone, free for calls to the U.S.A. Minimum stay here is 5 nights, and due to quite a steep staircase, it is not recommended for children under 12 years.

On entering the fourth floor, a small hallway leads to a spacious living room of approximately 300-square feet, featuring several large windows overlooking thel courtyard. The living room has a stone fireplace and the wall is lined with bookcases. A well-designed kitchen is adjacent to the dining room. An arched staircase separates the living room from the dining room, which comfortably seats 6 people. Both these rooms have original exposed wood ceiling beams. On the fifth floor, there is a large bathroom and an open master bedroom, overlooking the courtyard. A second bedroom is on the sixth floor where there is also a door leading to a small terrace overlooking the courtyard and rue de Bièvre. The terrace is furnished with a parasol, two chairs and a table, perfect for evening drinks, an intimate dinner or breakfast. The bedroom window looks out over the rooftops of Paris, with a beautiful view of the Pantheon dome rising up over the skyline, and the adjacent medieval Church of St. Etienne du Mont. The master bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space, but the top double bedroom only has drawers. Also, due to the fact that the master bedroom is open to the stairs, we would recommend this apartment more for families with older children.

Arrival at the apartments is normally from mid-afternoon, and departure must be by 10 a.m. This is to allow for cleaning between rentals if there are other guests departing/arriving on your arrival/departure day. If you are arriving/departing outside these times, please check with us if it is possible to arrive/leave the apartment earlier/later. If you require an airport or rail station transfer to your apartment, please ask us to quote for this.
