Marrakech, Morocco · Riad · 5 Bedrooms · 10 people

This sumptuous and exotic holiday Riad for rent is situated at the heart of the old medina of Marrakech, very near the spice market and less than five minutes walk from Jemaa el Fna Square. An ancient building, it has been beautifully restored throughout, blending traditional Moorish and Oriental architecture with an elegant European romantic style. It is built around a beautiful central courtyard, where palm trees, intertwined with bougainvillea, drape around an antique marble fountain.

The holiday rental in Marrakech consists of four spacious suites and one magnificent Royal Suite, three different salons and a large, sunny roof terrace, also with plunge pool, and with wonderful views over the city. There are lots of quiet areas for relaxing with a book, or enjoying a drink or meal. Many of the interior furnishings are the work of local Moroccan craftsmen and, if guests wish, they can be commissioned to take home. They are combined with pieces that the owner, a fashion designer, has collected over the years from her extensive travels. There is also a boutique at the Riad where clothes, jewellery, gifts and interior accessories can be purchased. Each bedroom has an individual style and charm, and is decorated accordingly, with intricate sculpted plasterwork, silk cushions and Syrian hanging lights. They are also fully air conditioned, and have wi-fi internet access. The en-suite bathrooms are in beautiful polished tadelakt, with natural bejmat tile flooring, dual copper basins and exquisite brass lights.

Breakfast, prepared by the chef, is included in the riad rental price and lunches and dinners are available on request. Breakfast includes freshly squeezed juices and smoothies, delicious yoghurts, patisseries and eggs, cooked to guests' requirements. For lunch there are inspired salads, fresh fish, grilled meats and soups, while dinner is a traditional Moroccan feast. Private cooking lessons, including shopping for fresh ingredients with the chef, can be arranged on request. Five course candlelit rooftop banquets can also be arranged, as well as entertainment, including belly dancers, local musicians, snake charmers and fire eaters. This luxury holiday Riad in Marrakech can be rented as individual suites or as one property. Minimum stay is 3 nights.
